Emani Wilson

Emani Wilson, of Southern New Jersey entered her first doll show in 1998 with Dark Images of
Philadelphia, PA., where she was well received. She then traveled throughout the country attending
numerous doll shoes, expos and exhibits such as, The Atlanta Arts Festival, The International Black
Buyers Expo in Washington DC and a host of other exciting events.
Inspired by her doll characters she soon began creating images in their likeness that are used on
commercial products such as magnets, bookmarkers, stationery and T- shirts.
Around 1995 she as a collaborative effort, contributed to a quilt project entitled “Our Grand and Glorious
Heritage.” This quilt now hangs in the African American Heritage Museum in Wilberforce, Ohio. She has
had the pleasure to design special children’s images for author and lecturer Shahrazad Ali for several of
her projects.
One of her most memorable assignments was working with Dr. Jewel I. Pookrum in 2009 when she
created stage backdrops for the Doctors, Sexual Healing Workshop and Lecture.
Emani’s images are among Artistic Impressions, Inc. of Lombard, Illinois, Dobson Products of Chicago,
Illinois and Panache Decors, of Willingboro, New Jersey.
In 2009 she presented a one woman show called, “Journey” at the Vineland Public Library, Vineland NJ.
By 2014 she entered and won second place for her doll sculpture in the 9th Annual Exhibit and Awards of
the National Arts Program, Camden County New Jersey.
Over the years Ms. Wilson has exhibited her fine art, dolls, quilts and novelties throughout the Delaware
Valley, Philadelphia, Georgia and New York City.
